Basically you can get a tactical nuke after a 25 killstreak, once you select it you get a 10 second countdown timer and then everyone on the map dies, including yourself. All enemy deaths get added on to your kill count. A tactical nuke can be disabled (i believe) by an EMP, although I have yet to see this.
Ok, so I’m a pretty good player, certainly above average and I was having difficulty getting a nuke. But I managed to do it last night after I bought and installed my new PVR! The second video I recorded of multiplayer footage was me getting a nuke, very pleased 
Anyways, here is how I did it:
- I got in a position to cover a flag on domination, and I laid a claymore
- I got 7 kills until I got a harrier, I then went and hid at the back of the map (it was Highrise)
- The harrier got me 11 kills, but rather than using my chopper gunner killstreak straight away I waited until the harrier either got shot down or flew away
- I got into the chopper gunner and at first was dismayed that they were inside, until I realised I could get shots through their windows close to spawn.
- I got the killstreak, finished up in the chopper and hit the button
I was surprised how many little points you get for it, you should get around 50,000XP if you ask me! Not 450XP!!!

Ok if you are at level 10 you should choose low killstreaks, as little kills as possible. Also use a basic class with an M4A1 with Stopping Power.
You could also try using just the riot shield and not sprinting, ever. You get lots of points for bullets hitting your shield.

Hi Jimmy, yeah if you go to “killstreaks and rewards” click on killstreaks and select the lowest killstreaks required: I’d go for UAV, Care package and Predator missile.
You can bash people with your shield, but it takes two hits.
Alternatively, get the Famas with a red dot and stopping power – stick with that until you get good – it will hone your aiming and you will get a decent amount of kills. It should also improve your positioning
Can you explain the kill streak and rewards section, I see I check and uncheck different things. What is the idea behind this, it is not explained in the manual and was not available in COD 4. I am a lvl 23.
Basically you can select up to 3 killstreak bonuses, you can check up to 3, the unchecked ones are ones you have unlocked, the ones with a lock sign mean you need to unlock them and if any have a red cross in it means it is mutually exclusive with another killstreak (if you try and choose Counter-UAV and Care Package for example).
Every now and again you can unlock more killstreak bonuses as well, that is it really – I hope that helps!

This is no joke. I am prestige 3 level 68 and I still have not got a nuke. I can get a 25 killstreak with ease but I need all three killstreak awards. Perhaps I need to be patient and try not to rush but any other possible tips on how to get a nuke. Cheers
you can always use one of the default classes and use a tactical knife very helpful.
the clase should have a ump45 and a magnem
the ump is a good weapon to start with… a gun with average recoil but requires burst shots to kill at mid and far ranges. It usually takes 3 hits for 1 guy to die… sprinting with the ump is a good choice as its ADS takes less then 1.5 secs and equiping ur ump with sliencer greatly reduces ur recoil BUT… it still takes 3 shots to kill!!! wonderful weapon with amkimbo and fmj can help boost ur KDR in tough situations
I’ve been using the pred. missile, then reg. chopper and then ac 130 and I absolutely love the ac, but I wanted to know ur opinion on which is better, the ac 130 or the chopper gunner??
and I’m definitely prestiging, I’m at lvl 66 rite now and I really wanna get a tact. nuke dropped before I prestige, what would you recommend I put for my killstreaks? Same thing as you or maybe somethin different?
hey ok well i’m a prestige 42. and my opinion chopper gunner is better in most cases althought for some maps ac 130 is better because u can get multi kills with it. for example rust u would use ac. as to why u would want to get a tactical nuke before u prestige, u may not know this but after u prestige it wont show that u got one everything resets except emlems and titles. u dont get an emblem for getting one tact nuke. its really hard i’ve only gotten 1

Nah a C130 just requires u to switch between the 105cal,70cal and 40 cal you DONT use only the 105 and the 70 becus they hav more range the 40 cal allows you to spot the launchers and kill them…i agree that some maps require a CG though…
use harrier then chopper gunner and then a nuke i have nuked 5 times

If you want to get XP, try playing Demolition. I leveled from 21 to level 30 in just 3 hours playing time.
I also got 8,000 XP in one match.
It’s easier leveling up in the earlier level than the later levels though. Nice work though!
i got about 15,000 points in one demolition game but a lot of that (about 5,000 points) were from challenges (call in this 5 times, get this however many kills with that, etc.)
umm nice i got about 25,000 points in one match because i was using different guns and unlocked challenges so i was glad and i was so close on getting a nuke, i went 20 and 2 and i had a 19 kill streak but then the match ended so i was like dang

i am exactly the same except i am lvl 53 1st prestige no joke!
I’ve called in one nuke before camping BEHIND the house in Estate. I’m 60 1st prestige, I came close to one, real close in invasion TDM on ground war. got to 24!!! My mistake was using my AC without finding a good spot. I would recommend the MP5K with rapid fire, and a handgun with a tac knife. Perks=scavenger pro clod blooded pro(for hit marker and UAV) and Ninja Pro(OWNS).

I got my first nuke as a No Prestige level 30 by accident… it came out of a care package!
Nice I was on a 22 kill streak and my internet stuffed up and lagged out I was annoyed still yet to get 1 lol I will use chopper gunner now instead of AC130

My problem is that I get killed, like, every 15 seconds after spawning… Should I slow down and try not to get shot that often or just… you know, keep up the pace?

It sounds like you probably need to get used to the controls a bit, but if you get bored of dying, try doing this…
1. Join Team Death Match
2. Look at the map and see where the majority of your team are and have a rough guess where the enemy are, then identify a choke point (ideally a doorway) where the enemy could get through and hit your teammates in the side or from behind.
3. Go find this choke point, cover it from behind cover, aim where the enemies chest will be if they step out (allow a gap for your reaction time).
4. When someone steps out you should be able to just hit the trigger – you won’t be quick enough to shoot them immediately, leave at least a reasonable gap (about half the width of his chest).

Im lvl 38 1st prestige and i still havent gotten a nuke! My friend already has the nuke emblem and he is 4th prestige! He got the game 2 days before me. He is always saying that I suck at it. I really need help. Can you give me some tips?
Yeahh man i know where your comin from in 2nd prestige 21, and i havent got one nuke. I regulary get aroun 30 kills a game, but never a nuke. The other day, i was playin free for all, and i got a 18 kill streak. Then i got shot haha. I was gutted cause i had a pave low in the air and i knew it would have got me the 7 kills i needed, i was like damnnn. As for weapons youshould use… The spas-12 is extremely underrated. I swear man, 80 % of the time its a one shot kill, and its good accuracy to. I got a collateral shot with that gun the other day. Prettyyy cool gun, try it out.For primary use the scar-h silenced. Scar-H aint that good of a gunon its own but team it up with a silencer and maybe red dot sight and your on to a winner buddy. Now, for killstreak rewards, what im gonna have when i finnally unlock some more, is:
Pave low. (9 kills)
AC13O (11 kills)
Tactical Nuke. (25 kills)
*NOTE ALL OF THESE WILL BE ONE LESS WITH HARDLINE*
also, the important thing to do with your killstreak rewards is to wait untill one is finished, if you know what i mean. So, you’ve gotyour 9 kill streak for the pavelow, basically, you wanna camp somewhere that nobody will find you. It would be helpfull if you could get to a spot where no one can see you, but it might get you 2 or 3 kils, coz every little helps. Okay, now your pave low is in the air. Its got you to an 11 killstreak, so your AC130 is now ready. But dont use it yet, wait till the pave low is finished. You should end up on an around 18 kill streak, depending on the map. Then you should make sure your somewhere where your notgonna get killed, coz trust me, you dont wanna get killed now. Your nuke is like 30 seconds away XD. Now, in your quiet place, use your AC130. Its almost certain that thats gonna get you your 7 kills for the nuke. Using those killstreaks, if you can get that 9 kill streak for the pavelow, its basically nuke in hand, as long as you go somewhere REALLL quiet once you get that pave low. Its the easiest way. Maybe you could get a friend to help coveryou in the match too. Also, when going for a nuke, its nooby, but man you have to camp. You just have to. its unrealistic to belive your gonna get a nuke from running around like a mad man, its very unlikely. Also, it would be a good thing to look into sniping, coz snipers dont get killed very often.
Anyways i dont ave much more to say to you.. Ummm.. hoped i help and enjoy the nukes mate

I have to say that I’m totally addicted to MW2. At Level 42 at the moment. The only frustrating thing for me is that my reflexes are nowhere near as sharp as some others. As soon as I see someone, they’ve usually shot me, which is why I camp so much. Any tips for dying less… :p

Hey everyone. I am just amazed at how you can get a nuke in the first place, I haven’t got one yet; 1st prestige, level 38.
I have some tips for amazing games, i like 34-2 every Derail, Rust, Scrapyard, Sub-Base, Highrise and Favela. Use the Spas-12! You would not believe the range of that thing! Just patrol the warehouse/office block in the middle of derail (my favourite map) or other places with that shotgun; don’t use anything except it in scrapyard, favela and derail. Wow. I have earned 3 nukes, two were stolen from me, one by lag and one I earned half a second before someone elses nuke killed us all, which left me SO PISSED! The third I managed to drop with no problems, and I was happy about that. Nukes aren’t that hard, and I would know, as one of my friends just recently got his twenty first nuke, in like a minute and a half. All you need to do is camp a bit, which helps prevent dying, and earn seven kills, then let the kill streaks ddo their work, and the deal is sealed. Don’t stick your head out or take any risks, just find a good spot and pick up harriers, then wait it out as far back in your spawn as you can get.
Quick side note by the way, I use:
Scar-h FMJ
spaz12 with grip
semtex and flash grenades
Scavenger
Hardline
And ninja
But really the best things to use are based on the map, and if you can get to good spots, EG. The highest roof on high-rise, where I use a sniping class with a barret. You just need to learn the maps is all.
Hey guys. To you trying to level up. Try hardcore search and destroy. I know it sounds tough. But it gives 500xp per kill and 1k xp per heashot kill. Also 500xp for blowing down uavs or counter uavs. Cause its hardcore its a really quick kill 1-3 shots. Also for nukers. Harrier chopper nuke. I usually go to domonation. Next i have a nubettob with 1 man army and danger close. I protect a flag while tubing get 3-4 kills. Next i one man army to a class with silenced scar with 1 man army and stoopingpower. Get to 5 kills. One man army to a scar with 1 man amry and hardline. Get the 1 quick kill then u have harriers. 1 army to danger close pro class (more air support dmg). Call in my harries while hiding completely. It should get 4 kills 90% it does. Still hiding , call in the chopper. With the extra air support dmg it kills mega fast. Harrier might get 1-3 kills while ur in chopper. Get the nuke killing ppl with CG. Hope tht helps nukers and newbs:)!

I need help with getting a nuke. I’m level 70 and I have been for a long time. I still haven’t gotten a nuke and my best killstreak is 17. I normally use SCAR-H Extended Mags, SPAS-12 FMJ, Scavenger Pro, Stopping Power Pro, Commando Pro, Claymores or Semtex, Final Stand. My killstreaks are Harrier, Chopper Gunner, and Nuke. I almost never make it to the Harrier. Please help!!! Any tips would be appreciated

Maybe I am also playing the wrong game mode I play TDM but you have to get it in 10 mins and you have to get one before it reaches 7500 points mark which can be difficult
Domination is probably the best game mode to get a nuks because you can camp easier and have more time to get a nuke
Ok I haven,t got a nuke yet but I have lots of COD experience this is probably the best way to do it
for the perks use one man army/hardline and commando
scavenger because you need to kill at least 6 people and you need lots of bullets,
Hardline to make it easier getting the harrier obviously
then use one man army to switch to a new class and use one man army again perk combined with danger close pro (with the harrier bombs it could kill 2 or 3 people ) then the harrier need 1 or 2 kills for chopper gunner
before you use it I would use one man army again to play safe ,so use bling perk ,cold-blooded because you won,t be seen easily (uav or some killstreaks form other players) and for the last perk I would use ninja (to prevent some bugger finding you with a heartbeat sensor while you are using chopper gunner)
all being well you should have the nuke but it depends on the map you ar playing the players, time, luck and skill to get it

hey guys hav you heard about the God-speed knife nuke?? 1st u need a knifing class perks are: marathon pro(4 unlimited sprint and faster climbing),lightweight pro(4 faster sprinting) and commando pro(4 extended knife range and no falling damage)… Killstreaks are care-package,ac130/copper-gunner and most importantly NUKE… ok take note that when u run with the care-package marker u run faster… in addition to ur perks u are imposible to catch unless u are shot by a sprayer or some noob tube… good luck trying this out!! i hope it helps…
This is how i achieve a nuke…. Choose big open maps, derail, wasteland, afghan etc for maximum air support kills. I use harrier, chopper, nuke. You wanna stay hidden if you want 25 kills so perks i use scavanger, coldblooded and ninja. Providing theres no elites in the game should be a case of stayin hidden in long grass, behind rocks etc but you cant camp unless your in a central location coz your run out of time before you get to 25. Weapons of choice, anything silenced for me prefer acr, ump. I use acr and ump coz they have a good standard aim and accuracy. Hope this helps. Add me ps3 name – kineno – if you need help
heeyy guys, im level 55 not prestige and the other day i got my first ever nuke on wasteland!!! i used tar with silenced and AA-12 with red dot sight, claymore, 2 x stun grenade, scavenger pro, hardline pro and commander pro, i went around anf got 6 kills for the harrier, camped in a little spot away from the group and got chopper and waited for harriers to go down so they dont steal each others kills and when they did i started!!! they were all in the open and i accidently had nuke on cause my cuz was trying to get one, funny thing is my cuz was actually on my team when i got my nuke and the other funny thing was my choppergot destroyed 1 second after my nuke, no joke!! and 2 days later i put of nuke thinking i wasnt gonna get another one on rundown and what do i do?? thats right, get a 29 killstreak!! pretyy disapointing. ahhaah tar with silenced is really good if you ask me, i use it all the time and im getting 20 odd kills a game!!
It was funny because once on quarry I was camping with scar h and I got my CG and got to 25 kills and there was a guy on my team who said “tactical nuke!” but I didn’t have nuke equipped.
Another thing that happened was inwas on quarry I got 17 kills 0 deaths I was too scared to rus out to get ammo.
2 lvl up fast use pred missle, harrier, and ac130 or chopper gunner b/c if u use hardline u only need 4 kills 2 get ur pred 2 with that 2 get harriers and then only 4 with the harriers 2 get the CG or ac130. by the way ive gotten the CG and ac130 emblems and 1 nuke and i personally like ac130 more than CP (more power, multikills, and can c whole map at once) but u need 2 understand how 2 use it good and u need 2 use it good but theyre both good just ur preference

And for u 1st prestige ppl out there, not getting a nuke yet is ok. Just keep trying harder.
I suggest using guns such as the Scar-H, Tar, or my fav, Ak47( in three games with the ak I’ve been within 2 kills of getting the nuke each game, not camping)
