A predator missile is usually available after 5 kills (4 with Hardline), it basically zooms in from above and you can see the whole map with all the bad guys highlighted with square red boxes (unless they have Cold-Blooded). If you press a button (not sure which) you can speed up the rocket to hit its destination. It is also useful because you can see where most of the enemies are.
